Privacy Policy
The North Services — Last updated: September 8, 2026
Scope
This policy explains how The North Services handles personal information through our website, enquiries, communications and Education, Technology and Commerce services, including admissions referrals, smart-home and business systems, IT support, ERP/CRM implementation and business services. It covers information we control. When processing information for a business client, we also follow the applicable service agreement and the client's lawful instructions.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information from your authorized representatives or service partners, and technical information generated when you use our website. Depending on the service, this may include contact details, education and program interests, project or business information, appointment details, correspondence, billing records, communication preferences, IP address, browser details and website activity.
We request only information needed for an identified purpose. Do not submit passwords, Social Insurance Numbers, banking credentials or sensitive identity documents through public forms, SMS or ordinary email. If sensitive information is necessary, we will explain why and arrange an appropriate method.
How and why we use information
We use information to answer enquiries, arrange consultations, provide requested services or referrals, manage projects and accounts, process payments, provide support, maintain security, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Optional promotional communications require a separate choice where consent is required; requesting a service does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
We explain additional purposes when collecting information and obtain consent where required. Where applicable law requires another legal basis, this may be steps requested before a contract, performing that contract, legal obligations, or legitimate interests in administration and security, subject to your rights.
Providers and referrals
We do not sell personal information or provide customer lists for another organization's marketing. Providers supporting hosting, business software, communications, payments and professional services may process necessary information on our behalf, under appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions.
Before referring you to an institution or independent service partner, we identify the recipient and purpose and obtain the required informed consent. That permission is separate from SMS consent. We may disclose information when legally required or otherwise lawfully permitted, limited to the relevant purpose. Independent institutions, platforms and linked websites have their own privacy practices.
SMS/MMS messaging and consent
If you separately opt in, The North Services may send SMS/MMS about your enquiry, appointments, requested services and service updates. Providing a phone number alone is not SMS consent. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to the number that sent the message to stop that messaging program. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact info@thenorthservices.com or +1 289 327 2200. We retain necessary consent and opt-out records to document and honour your choices. Messaging providers process delivery information on our behalf to operate the program, without permission for independent marketing use.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Cookies and technology services
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions and website measurement. We explain optional tracking and seek permission where required. Browser settings can restrict cookies, although some features may stop working.
For installations, migrations, remote support or monitoring, access to devices, recordings, networks and business data is limited to the authorized work. Any recording, monitoring or additional sensitive-data processing requires appropriate notice, permissions and service-specific terms.
Security, retention and international processing
We use safeguards appropriate to the information's sensitivity and limit access to people who need it for authorized work. No system is completely secure. We assess privacy incidents and notify affected individuals and authorities when required by law.
We retain information only as needed for its purpose, service and accounting requirements, disputes, legal duties and consent records, then securely delete or anonymize it, subject to necessary backup cycles and legal holds.
Providers may process information outside your province or Canada, where local laws may permit government access. We remain accountable for information processed on our behalf and apply required contractual safeguards and transfer measures. Contact us for details about relevant providers and processing locations.
Your rights and choices
You may request access to or correction of your information, ask how it is used, withdraw consent or raise a complaint. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to deletion, portability, restriction or objection. We verify identity proportionately and respond within applicable legal time limits, explaining any lawful restrictions.
Withdrawing permission for information essential to a service may prevent us from continuing that service; we will explain the consequences. You can unsubscribe from promotional email using its unsubscribe link. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the relevant provincial or other privacy authority.
Children, updates and contact
Where a young person cannot provide meaningful consent, or applicable law requires it, we obtain permission from a parent or authorized guardian.
We update this policy as practices change, provide notice of material changes and obtain fresh consent when required. A policy update does not remove your statutory rights.
